Slide Mount Class Part 8 |
|
| Have I wet your whistle? Hungry for more
slide mount idea's?
Here is another one..... This time I am going to use our "round" cardboard slide mounts. The great thing about these is that they come with a "window" already in them! This would save you a step when making shaker boxes. But we are not making shaker boxes this time. |

This time let's "color" our slide mount using a dye ink pad. I am using The Stamping Studio's "Blueberry" pad. The cardboard slide mount accepts the water based ink pad wonderfully! |
| All you do for this technique is to rub the ink pad directly onto the slide mount. Keep rubbing until you get the coverage that you want. If you happen to get ink onto the "window" part of the slide mount, just wipe it off with a cloth. | ![]() |

Let's make another card!
The base of the card is "Rosebud" Bazzill cardstock from the Velvet Trio collection. To give it depth, and highlight the great texture of the cardstock... . (Sorry about the blur! I was stamping with one hand, and taking the photograph with the other!... talk about "multi-tasking!) |
| Use a stipple brush or sponge to rub the same Blueberry dye ink around the edges of the card. | ![]() |

Here is what your colored slide mount looks like against your card. Very pretty..... |
| The slide mount is going to be a frame for a
punched purple flower against Chatterbox's pattern vellum "Parlor
Posies"
First glue your punched flower to the vellum, then apply glue to the back of the slide mount and center the flower. You may have to trim the vellum around the edges. |

Glue a torn strip of the same patterned vellum towards the bottom of the card, and the slide mount above that. |
| Finish off the card by stamping the tag from the "Tags and Labels" set, and the saying Best Wishes from the "Basic Sayings" set with black StazOn ink, onto the torn border. The StazOn ink dries almost instantly on the vellum. Add three green Bazzill buttons to the left side of the slide mount, and knot black gingham ribbon around the spine of the card, and you are done! |
