Slide Mount Class Part 6 |
|
| Let's make a card incorporating the shaker box!
I wanted a "contemporary" feel for card, while using my "traditional" leaf images, so I combined our retro looking "Groovy" background set, with our "Pressed Leaves" set. We are going to be "layering" images, so let's start out with a square frame image with the Mango Madness VersaMagic pad on a band of white cardstock 5.5x2.5 inches. Our eye likes to see odd numbers, so stamp either 3 or five of this image. |

The next layer is one of the leaves stamped with Tea Leaves. (How appropriate!) I am overlapping the images so that they relate to each other, and not just "floating" all over the background. |
| The next layer is a the small square frame stamped with Jumbo Java, which is the same color that the base of the card is going to be. | ![]() |

Now fill in a few places with the same small square frame stamp, but using the Brick Red color this time. This is going to brighten the pattern up a bit. |
| To add a little bit of "punch" stamp
the "3 dots" image from the same stamp set using Jumbo Java and
Brick Red ink pad colors. Again, you are stamping over previously
stamped images. Think of it as "groupings".

That looks good! |
| Glue that piece to the middle of your card. | ![]() |

We are going to edge the right side of the stamped cardstock, with black gingham ribbon. The Hermafix/Dotto glue dispenser is perfect for this. Just run the glue dots along the edge. |
| Cut a length of our black gingham ribbon slightly longer than the length of the card. Then stretch the ribbon over the glue, and press down well. | ![]() |

Apply glue to the overlapped ribbon, and then fold over to secure. |

Now we can glue down our shaker box! Apply glue to the back of the shaker box..... |
| ...and apply to card. | ![]() |

Here is the finished card! And it is so much fun to "shake rattle and roll!" |
