Slide Mount Class Part 10

<<  Part 9

Ready for another one?!

This time let's use some of our colored plastic slide mounts.  This is the "Pastels" set, and we have a total of 5 collections available.  These slide mounts have wonderful rich color, and some of them have a metallic sheen to them.

This card started out with Petunia Bazzill cardstock from the pink collection.  I then tore a band of white cardstock, and stamped with the "Pressed Flowers" stamp set with VersaMagic "Pink Petunia" ink, and Tea Leaves.  I also stamped on a scrap of white cardstock, three little flowers  which I glued behind the pink slide mount from the Pastels collection.
I added more strips of cardstock to the stamped border, using Chatterbox "Spruce Gerberas" and regular vellum that I wrinkled by wadding it up in a ball.

Finish off the card by adding a black gingham ribbon below the stamped border.  Stamp the saying "Friend to Friend" to the top of the card, and "I hope today tickles you pink!" to the bottom of the card.  (Both from the "Tickled Pink" stamp set)  Glue the slide mount to the front of the card with pop dots, and call it done!
Another idea for our slide mounts is to "bead" them!  That's right, I said "bead".  But let's do it the easy way, and use micro beads!

I am starting out with a white cardboard slide mount that I stamped with the Swanky Stripe, and the flower image from the "Groovy" stamp set, that have been stamped in Pink Petunia and Tea Leaves VersaMagic.

Next, use red 1/2 inch red liner tape to cover the slide mount completely, trimming as necessary.  This tape is heavy duty permanent adhesion, perfect for holding beads.
After rubbing the red liner tape to make sure it is really "stuck", peel off the red liner to expose the tape and pour on your clear micro beads. (A funnel tray is recommended! and we have the best price!)  Pour off the excess beads and rub the slide mount gently to remove any excess beads.
This is why we like funnel trays!  Easy clean up.
Here is the finished slide mount.  Pretty!

This card starts out with Romance Bazzill cardstock from the pink mono collection. Stamp a 2.5 inch border with stamps from the Groovy set using Pink Petunia and Tea Leaves, and add the word "groovy" in black around the pattern.  Glue the stamped border to your card, and edge it with pink gingham ribbon (Yes we have pink gingham too!) Glue the beaded slide mount to the card and add three Bazzill flower brads from the pink collection inside the slide mount.  The final step is to add three white paper flowers to the bottom of the card.
Ok, one "last" idea!  We have had these cute little washers in our store for awhile now, and I have been dying to try them out.  Their size is perfect for a slide mount.

I started out with one of our blue plastic colored slide mounts from the "Pastel" collection, and attached red liner tape to the whole front, covering it completely.  Then add our washers.  I thought is was more interesting to hang some of the washers off the edge of the slide mount, and the tape is strong enough to hold the washers in place.

Then I poured the clear micro beads over the front of the slide mount.  I really like how it turned out!
I decided that this "washered and beaded" slide mount would be perfect for a Father's Day card.  So I started out with Windy Bazzill cardstock from the Nightmist Trio collection, and added a thick band of Chatterbox pattern paper Dark Den Circles that I edged with a silver leafing pen to tie in with the silver washers.  Glue that to the middle of the card, and glue three washers above that.

To complete the slide mount I used on of our "Classic Eyelet Letters" D attached to a scrap of more Chatterbox pattern paper to back the slide mount.  Glue the slide mount to the card with pop dots.  The next two letter embellishments are two of our small circle rimmed tags with Chatterbox letter stickers on them.  I shortened the string on the tags, and used pop dots to attach.
