Slide Mount Class Part 1

<< Intro

Part 2  >>

As you will learn in this class slide mounts are a wonderful, and versatile embellishment.

Let's start out in the beginning.... this is a slide mount.  We are going to start out with a cardboard slide mount, and they happen to come attached like this.

You will want to cut them apart to create two slide mounts, with a very sharp pair of scissors, or a craft knife.

The cardboard slide mounts are very economical and the best thing about them is that you can stamp directly on top of them.  Cool!

So let's do just that!  Here I am inking up our Swanky Stripe image with Mango Madness VersaMagic ink.  I have found with this particular brand of ink pad, it is best to lay your stamp on the table, image side up and press the ink onto the image.  You have better control, and can tell easily when the image has enough ink on it.
Here is the slide mount partially stamped, and you will need to stamp it again to fill the whole slide mount.
This is easily accomplished with our "unmounted" stamps with clear acrylic mounts.
I wanted to create a "plaid" pattern on the slide mount, so after I had the Mango stamped in one direction, I turned the slide mount, then stamped the Swanky Stripe again with Tea Leaves VersaMagic.
Here is the finished "plaid" slide mount.
You can also stamp a saying on top of your slide mount.
StazOn ink works well when you are stamping over chalk and pigment ink.
