I guess it was just fate that I found a way to use the humble CD case in a clever way.  Since I store all my unmounted stamps in CD cases (and I only own "unmounted" stamps!) I tend to have a half a used box of fifty CD cases lying around at any given time. 

Here is a side view of a CD case turned into a calendar frame.  I also think that it would make a fun photo frame as well, if you dressed it up with scrapbooking paper and rubber stamps of course!   

To turn your CD case into a calendar frame it only takes a few simple steps;  Start out by placing the CD case on your table with the hinge on the left.  Open it up and pull out the insert that would normally hold the CD. (Now if somebody could come up with a good use for these I would be very happy!!)  Very gently take the top off by pulling it apart at the hinge.  Now flip over the bottom part that is resting on the table, and re-attach the top to the bottom.  That is it!  Your CD case has been transformed into a free standing frame.  How cool is that! The other item you will need is a computer program to create the calendar.  There are many on the market place, and your computer may have come with one.  I had fun changing the sizes and fonts.  The calendar pages need to be cut 4.75 x 4.75 and slip right into where the cover of a music CD would normally be.
