Are you looking for an elegant and sophisticated gift that you can hand make?  That is what we are going to do in this Brass Bookmark Class!

We are going to use the following supplies; shrink plastic, sanding block, brass hook bookmark, brass wine glass loop, pliers, beads, hole punch, VersaMagic ink pads, rubber stamps and cardstock.

This first thing we will create is the Shrink Plastic charm, and we are using Translucent shrink plastic for this.  Cut out a tag shape from the shrink plastic that is approximately 4 x 2 inches, and you will also want to punch a hole at this time as well.  I just used your regular household, hole punch as it will shrink down later.

Take very fine sand paper or one of our sanding blocks, and sand one side of the tag.  You will want to sand in one direction, then go in the opposite direction the next time.  Do this about 6 times.  This will give our ink some "tooth" to grab onto when we stamp.

Now stamp up your tag on the same side you sanded.  I am using VersaMagic Hint of Pesto, and Malted Mauve  inks with our "Retro Holly and Poinsettia" stamp set.
This set has two layers, so you will stamp the solid images first ......
Then stamp the lined image in black ink over that.  It is a great look isn't it?  And don't worry about the two layers lining up... they aren't meant to line up perfectly.
Next is the fun part, shrinking!  Place your stamped tag in a toaster oven, or regular oven and shrink according to the package directions.  I use my toaster oven at about 350 degrees until it curls up, and lays down perfectly flat.  This is fun to watch!
This is how much it shrinks down!  It also becomes thicker and more substantial.
Now we are ready to "bead" our wine glass loop, and you can really get creative here.  I used some matching color matte finish beads, and one of our disk charms that says "wish".
So just go ahead and place the beads, charm and shrink plastic charm tag onto the loop as desired.
We will need to bend the end of the wire up a little bit with your pliers so that it will close securely.
Then place the wine glass loop onto the shepard's hook bookmark.
Isn't it pretty?
Of course I had to make this into a card of some sort! Here I just created a pocket along the bottom of the card with mini brads, and slipped the bookmark into the card.

I think I need to make one of these for myself!!
